Scan and copy with PaperPaste.
PaperPaste recognizes printed text directly on your iPhone and copies the value you choose to its clipboard. It works without an account or internet connection in standalone mode, and can optionally send selected text to a paired computer.
Copy printed text
- Open PaperPaste on iPhone and allow Camera access.
- Aim or drag the crosshair over a clearly printed value.
- In Manual mode, wait for the value to appear and tap Copy text.
- In Automatic mode, hold steady until the progress bar completes.
- Switch to another app and paste from the iPhone clipboard.
Connect to a computer
- Open the PaperPaste website on your computer; it displays a one-time QR code.
- In the iPhone app, tap Connect to computer and scan that code.
- Copy printed text normally. The encrypted value appears in the browser.
- Click the value in the browser to copy it to your computer clipboard.
- Close or refresh the browser tab to end the session and clear its memory.
If the computer does not connect
- Confirm both devices have internet access; they do not need to share Wi-Fi.
- Refresh the computer page to create a new one-time QR code, then scan it again.
- Keep the computer tab open while copying from the iPhone.
- A firewall that blocks secure WebSockets may prevent the live connection.
If text is not recognized
- Use bright, even lighting and keep the printed line in focus.
- Move the crosshair close to the center of the value you want.
- Try the 1× camera for the clearest image.
- In iOS Settings, confirm Camera access is enabled for PaperPaste.
